The unsalted butter is heated so that the water in the butter evaporates and you are left with pure oil. To get Tesmi, herbs are added during this process so that the Ghee is already flavored. Yes. Despite butter being a dairy product, Tesmi is lactose-free. Butter is a dairy product. However, it is heated in such a way that the milk components float to the top and are skimmed off. This creates a pure butter oil and makes it lactose-free.

No it is not Casein free. We have had our Tesmi
testing and the results have shown that our Tesmi is low in Casein.
